A Beautiful Map of Manasota Key

Beautiful Manasota Key! I've walked this beach many times. I was surpised by how many sharks teeth can be found at the waters edge. The water is very clear and dolphins swim pass often. Fortunately, the area has not become overly congested like many other parts on Florida. It still has an old Florida feel. Check-out this map I did of Manasota Key at LeoLakes.com.

When a hurricane comes a shore

 It has been about a month since I have posted on Leo Lakes, why? Well, It has a lot to do with Hurricane Ian that hit Florida. We have a small place in Englewood Florida and it was damaged. Luckily, we didn't have catastrophic damage, but the park that we are in took some pretty high winds. The hurricane passed right over, with winds over 110 mph. 

We have been down, repairing the damage, cleaning up and helping others. Here is a few photos that I took that shows the extent of the damage.

Interestingly, we had a piece of metal come thur the wall of our place. it knocked a clock off the wall and the batteries fell out. The time was 4:26 pm. 

It is a sad situation because some folks live there full time and completely lost their home. I can't imagine the distruction in Ft Mryers, Sanibel Island etc...

Panama City Beach Decor Map

A beutiful decor map of Panama City Beach....Ain't she pretty! She's all dressed up in her best frame and ready to meet her new beach house.....two feet by 4 feet and stunning.

Lots of detail, but no road names. You will find folks using their eyes to follow the roads. It's not a road map, it's a decor map....

I always add the local waterfowl flying over and a few fish jumping in the water. If you look chosely, you may find a tiny hidden mermaid swimming around. They say the children really enjoy hunting for her and are thrilled when they spot her in the waters. Oh yeah, some folks tell me that she moves, but I'm not sure that I believe that. LeoLakes.com

 

Most folks add a star to a special place on the lake such as a lake house or where they caught that big fish. I've been doing lake, river and bay maps for over ten years. Over the years, I have experimented with different elements of map art in order to provide the best and most unique map on the market. Folks will be drawn to the map like a crackling fire on a cold winter night.  I try very hard to make my maps special by adding interest to the maps.  My two girls just graduated from college and I must give them some accolades.

Dr. Callie Oldfield has recently graduated from UGA with a Phd in Biology. She is the Director of Research at the Phinizy Swamp and Nature Park, located in Augusta, GA.

Sarah recently graduated from University of Arkansas with a Master's Degree in Mathematics. She works for the Department of Defense as an Operation Analyst at Ft Rucker, AL. Callie and Sarah, you girls are amazing!!!
